SolSuite 2018's version 18.0 includes the following new features:

 Achievements
Added the game achievements for each solitaire.
Achievements are goals to reach, based on the number of games won for each solitaire.
There are five levels of achievements: Titanium, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Each solitaire, based on its chance of winning, has specific levels of achievements to reach. A solitaire with a high chance of winning, will have higher values to reach compared to a solitaire with a low chance of winning.
For example, to reach the Gold (the intermediate) achievement for FreeCell, you must win 50 games, while for Klondike you must win only 30 games.

By clicking the "All Solitaires" button you can view the Achievements for all solitaire games included in SolSuite. A table with rows and columns will appear. The values showed are the five achievements: Titanium, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze for each solitaire game. You can sort the columns by clicking on them.

 Statistics dialog boxes
The Statistics, Hi-Scores and Log Statistics dialog boxes have been redesigned using flat graphics and larger buttons and fonts to match the Windows 10 interface.

System Rescue Toolkit is designed to work with Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10.  It has also been used with Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012, modern Apple Macs and it also has a GNU/Linux base. Under the hood, the boot environment natively is built to support software Linux raid using mdadm as well as chipset based “fakeraid” systems using dmraid.  This toolkit aims to provide a solution for all environments, not have all the tools in one pack.

The program can read the clipboard content, view the text from AZW, AZW3, CHM, DjVu, DOC, EPUB, FB2, HTML, LIT, MOBI, ODT, PRC, PDF and RTF files, customize font and background colour, control reading from the system tray or by the global hotkeys.

The program uses various versions of Microsoft Speech API (SAPI); it allows to alter a voice's parameters, including rate and pitch. The user can apply a special substitution list to improve the quality of the voice's articulation. This feature is useful when you want to change the spelling of words. The rules for the pronunciation correction use the syntax of regular expressions.

Balabolka can save the synchronized text in external LRC files or in MP3 tags inside the audio files. When an audio file is played with players on a computer or on modern digital audio players, the text is displayed synchronously (at the same way, as lyrics for songs).

VLC Media Player 3.0

You can update an existing copy of VLC Media Player on desktop machines, or install the new version without transferring any existing customizations to the new version.

VLC 3.0's interface looks more or less identical to previous versions. VideoLAN marked it as a LTS, Long Term Service release for several systems. The organization notes that VLC 3.0.x will be the last working releases for Windows XP and Vista, and the matching Windows server variants, for Mac OS 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9, for iOS 7 and 8, and for Android 2.x, 3.x, 4.0.x and 4.1.x.

The 3.0 branch of VLC has new requirements:

• Windows XP: release should work for the most part, but it has limitations.
• Windows Vista: requires platform upgrade.
• Linux: requires Kernel newer than 2.6.26.
• Mac OS X: needs version 10.7 or newer.

Side note: The new VLC 3.0 fixed long-standing WMV playback issues that I experienced when using VLC. It would not play some WMV files correctly, and I had to use Windows Media Player for these files. This seems to have been fixed in VLC 3.0.

Closing Words

VLC Media Player 3.0 is a major upgrade of the player, the first in years, that corrects several issues, especially in regards to compatibility and functionality, that were not addressed in minor release upgrades.
