Icaros Shell Extensions is a pack of shell extensions for your Windows operating system that enables and displays Explorer thumbnails for almost any video file.

The pack is easy to install and does not pose any challenges during the process. You don’t have to do anything except click “Next”. The application automatically registers the common file types that are supported by FFmpeg along with FLAC, APE and MPC formats.

Icaros Shell Extensions offers you thumbnails for just about any video media file such as MKV, AVI, FLV, MP4, MOV, OGM, RMVB and M2TS.

As far as the interface goes, the application displays a comprehensive and straightforward main window from where you are able to activate and deactivate the thumbnails. Once you activate them, all the supported video media files reveal the corresponding thumbnails, enabling you to have a quick peak of the content. And with all the files displaying thumbnails, your folders also look better when browsing them.

The application provides you with a default number of files that are registered, such as MKV, OGM, FLV, AVI and RM for video files and FLAC, APE and MPC for audio formats. Before activating all the thumbnails, the application lets you choose which ones you want.

You can also manually insert thumbnail file types that you want to register in addition by typing them inside a designated field. Though this is a useful feature, you need to keep in mind that not all the file types are supported.

Moreover, you get to set the percentage for the thumbnail offset, meaning you can choose the position of the stream from where the thumbnail is extracted. You also get to toggle the use of embedded cover art for thumbnails and enable black and white frame detection.

In closing, Icaros Shell Extensions can definitely prove handy by offering you this small and useful feature for Windows Explorer.

Inno Script Studio provides help to simplify the creation of Microsoft Windows installations by allowing the generation of Inno Setup scripts by use of the intuitive interface to reduce the need to manually edit the Inno Setup scripts. If you’ve created a freeware application, or even if it’s a large and complex application, Inno Script Studio will help you create the perfect Windows installation that fits both you and your customers’ requirements.

Easily create setup packages
However, there might be situations when you need to personalize your installation process by adding the application’s name in the titlebar, specify folder information or simply choose which icons should be created for your program and here is where Inno Script Studio comes in handy.

Using this application, you are able to create installers by generating scripts for Inno Setup Compiler. This way, you can personalize each installer the way you want.

Inno Script Studio sports an intuitive interface that presents your generated scripts in a logically structured manner. The main menu contains all the commands that the utility can offer. For each item, a key shortcut is assigned but you can also change them according to your preferences by selecting the Customize snap-in from the right-click option on the main menu.

Manually add scripts or use the wizard configurator
Inno Script Studio enables you to write your scripts manually, considering that you are an advanced user who really knows how to work with these kinds of apps. However, if you are a beginner, you can use the wizard (available in the File menu), so you can automatically generate scripts.

The wizard will guide you through the process of creating a new script file by specifying basic information about your application and choosing which documents should be shown during installation. For instance, you can display to users the license information before installing your program.

After setting basic details, Inno Script Studio will automatically generate the script. However, in case you want to modify it, you can access the ‘Setup Options’ snap-in available in the toolbar.

The left panel allows you to add new registry entries, icons, INI files, directories and files required by your program to work properly.

What’s more, a debugging engine is integrated into Inno Script Studio, so you can easily set breakpoints, step between code lines and view installer variables.
