IF you have a previous failed TT2021 version installed and want to get your taxes filed, we suggest you make a clean install

using the instructions herein after you completely remove your prior TT2021 installation.  It is easier to use Revo Uniinstaller:

Download and install revo or use the portable version to remove corrupted TT2021

After picking TT2021 from the Revo interface and letting Revo unstall using the Windows uninstaller, be sure to scan and delete everything it finds during the medium depth scan for left overs.

Run the Windows TT2021 uninstaller from the Windows control panel

Clean all TT Folders, Settings and Registries.

Install Guide:

1.   Simply install TT:

IGNORE the "Instructions.txt" in the download above,

just open the downloaded zip file from above and run setup.exe, accept license, uncheck the Help Us Improve, let it install.

When you see "Success, Ready to Start your Taxes", click to run TT2021 and the Updater box appears:

Click the Update TT2021 and let it fully update. Then the Success window appears:

At this point, it does not matter whether you click Continue using...or "X" out of this window in the upper right corner.  TT2021 will not open and no screen prompts will appear.  Go to the next step 2.

2.   Download and apply Latest Fix Patch :

Apply by extracting this file to your desktop and then copy it to, and overwrite the current file with the same name, in  the 32bit subdirectory located at %systemroot%\Program Files (x86)\TurboTax\Individual 2021\32bit folder.

3.  Open TT2021, go to the Help tab, select Switch product , to select your desired version, then close TT2021. 

4.  Now, Modify TTWinUserState.xml file

located at "c:\users\******\AppData\Roaming\Intuit\TurboTax\TY21" (inside the quotes, paste " %APPDATA%\Intuit\TurboTax\TY21 "  into Windows Explorer address bar to quickly navigate to that location).

Use Notepad.exe to add following line right after the beginning  "<Wnta>":  <entry key="Intuit.Ctg.Wte.UseCase.Startup.ShowProductActivation">false</entry>

NOW you have a fully updated and functional TT2021 program capable of efiling.

Currently, there is no anticipated further fixes needed.
