R-Wipe & Clean is a complete R-Tools solution to remove useless files, free up your disk space, and clean various privacy-compromising information on your online and offline activity. This includes internet history and cookies, lists of downloaded files and opened documents, various data caches, temporary files, and many more items, created by the operating system, most contemporary internet browsers and communication programs, and by hundreds of third-party applications.

PDF Split and Merge Basic is an application that you can use to perform several actions on your PDF files, including merging, splitting, rotating and rearranging pages.

The interface of the program is plain and simple. On the left side of the window you can select an action between "Alternate Mix", "Merge/Extract", "Rotate", "Split", "Visual document" and "Visual reorder".

In the list you can view the path, number of pages and version of each PDF file, after you add them (the "drag and drop" method is supported).

So, you can configure mixing options, such as reverse the first or second document, set the number of pages to switch from the first/second document to the other.

Furthermore, you can set options for merging (PDF documents contain forms), rotation (clockwise rotation for 90, 180 or 270 degrees, for all, even or odd pages) and splitting (e.g. split even or odd pages, into single pages, after specific ones, by bookmarks level).

Plus, you can open a PDF file, rearrange, extract, delete pages and save them in a new file, zoom in and out, and more.

In the "Settings" menu, you can change the interface language and theme, set the log level, set PDF Split and Merge Basic to automatically check for updates at startup, disable alert sounds, enable to ask for confirmation when the overwrite checkbox is selected, and others.

The program uses a high amount of system resources and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. Unfortunately, there are no guidelines available and users might have a hard time getting around PDF Split and Merge Basic's features.

The interface could use some improvements in the way that it is easier to navigate through all functions. Nevertheless, we recommend PDF Split and Merge Basic to all users.

OpenMPT 1.29.10.00 released

This update to OpenMPT 1.29 is mostly a bugfix release, but also adds some new keyboard shortcuts and improves existing features. Here are the most important changes:

• Added keyboard shortcuts for increasing and decreasing tempo and ticks per row of currently playing module.
• Launching OpenMPT could take longer than it should depending on the current working directory, e.g. when opening modules from the task bar's jump list.
• In the General Tab, the tempo slider handle was shown in the wrong position for tempos close to 1000 BPM.
• Interpolating the volume column between a cell with a Set Volume command and a cell with no volume command but a note and instrument is now possible (it uses the default volume of that sample for interpolation).
• Duplicating / adding / removing a channel, undoing and then redoing it caused the contents of the last channel to be lost.
• "Maintain sample sync on mute" was only enforced after manually muting a channel, and e.g. by restarting playback broke it again.
• Can now resample all samples at once by holding shift when pressing the resample button.
• Saving an XI instrument from an IT or MPTM module could cause wrong transposition for samples with a middle-C frequency below 8363 Hz.
• Saving an ITI instrument from an XM module converted auto-vibrato sweep incorrectly.
• MPTM: The "Do not reset OPL channel status at end of envelopes" compatibility flag was effectively force-enabled for all modules made with OpenMPT 1.29, while it should have been disabled.
• MPTM: The old OpenMPT 1.28 retrigger behaviour for OPL instruments differed depending on the chosen output sample rate. Retrigger now always retriggers notes as expected, which was already the case when the mix rate was chosen to be 48000 Hz. The corresponding compatibility setting was removed, as it is no longer required.
• MPTM files with OPL instruments were sometimes written in a way so that older OpenMPT and libopenmpt versions without OPL support could no longer read certain song properties and warn that the file was created with a more recent version of OpenMPT.
• S3M: Emulate IT short sample retrigger quirk in S3M files saved with Impulse Tracker and Schism Tracker.
• Fixed possible crash when sample-swapping to a previously-deleted sample in MOD files.
• ProTracker 3.6 doesn't support sample swapping. It is now disabled when loading a ProTracker 3.6 IFF module.
• Some MOD files with "hidden" garbage patterns were not played correctly since OpenMPT 1.29.05.00.
• E9x retrigger now works the same way as in ProTracker 2 in MOD files.
• MDL: Improve auto-vibrato accuracy.
• In OpenMPT 1.29.09.00, the "Save As" dialog now may have shown up every time after opening a file in an import-only format. Some actions like running the Automatic Sample Trimmer may have also prevented the dialog from showing up.
• Exported 8-bit FLAC output was distorted since OpenMPT 1.29.01.00.
• MME / Wave Out output devices are no longer marked as deprecated for now.
• Opening the help didn't open the correct page if the upper half of the view was focussed.

WSCC allows you to install, update, execute and organize the utilities from various system utility suites. WSCC can install and update the supported utilities automatically. Alternatively, WSCC can use the http protocol to download and run the programs.

The interface is very simple and intuitive, thus allowing any type of user to find their way around it, regardless of their previous experience with the IT world. Aside from that, it consists of a folder structure and a panel in which to view details.

Upon first launching the utility, you can see a list of software products you can install, such as DiskMon, PortMon, TagsReport, Page Defrag and Autoruns, along with some short descriptions.

This tool also enables you to quickly access a console, so that you can execute command line applications.

The view type can be changed, from a detailed one, to icons and reports. In addition to that, you can show hidden items, add tools to favorites, search for them online and view properties.

From the settings panel, the application can be minimized to the tray, so as not to become obtrusive. Plus, you can view tooltips, check for updates, configure the search to look in software descriptions, scan while typing, as well as customize the console (background color, opacity and font).

To sum up, WSCC - Windows System Control Center is a useful piece of software, when it comes to managing utilities from the Windows Sysinternals suit, view, execute and add them to favorites. It does not put a strain on your PC’s performance and the response time is very good. Our tests did not reveal any errors, bugs, or crashes.

W10Privacy can display common Windows 10 security settings that can be activated as well as deactivated within the program. It also allows importing and exporting of your changes. While there are a lot of Windows 10 privacy tools out there, many of them lack the detail this program has. Of course, this means that it might take you a bit longer to go through your choices.

For those who don't want to go into detail you can choose from 3 predefined settings. While the design is very simple, there are also 3 colors so that you can easily spot the these 3 settings:
Green - Recommended - this is a conservative mode. Yellow - Conditionally recommended - probably the best bet but look over the choices. Red - Restricted - think of this as geek mode. Better know what you're doing. Must run as administrator.

Also, other similar apps don't always have a back or set a restore point making them a bit scary. This program however does offer a save, save as and load options so you can backup and import or export your settings anytime.
W10Privacy has a built in update checker and a handful of user settings as well.
