Summary:

YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer), is the successor to our MultibootISOs. It can be used to create a Multiboot Bootable USB Flash Drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning, diagnostic tools, and more. Contrary to MultiBootISOs which used grub to boot ISO files directly from USB, YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and reverts to using grub to Boot Multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.

Aside from a few distributions, all files are stored within the Multiboot folder, making for a nicely organized Portable Multiboot USB Drive that can still be used for other storage purposes.

YUMI was originally intended to be used to store and run various "LIVE Linux" Operating Systems and tools from USB. Using YUMI to install Linux from USB to a Hard Drive works on some but not all distributions. (I'm working to address this).

Pre_Scan is an portalbe antimalware ( no needs installation ) which repairs services killed by ZeroAccess, file extensions, the safemode, the security center , deletes rogues, IFEO, Mountpoints2, bad activeX, bad Automatic launches and on RUN keys, restores attributes to hidden files which have not to be, etc.

When malware infection takes place in your computer, it can end up corrupting your files and damaging Windows settings such as services or Registry entries. Sometimes, malware infection also disassociates file extensions with common programs and disables some internal tools such as Registry Editor. In such a system, you won’t be able to do anything much towards fixing the system and bring it back to the normal state without first repairing all the damage.

For repairing Windows settings after a malware infection, you can use the freeware tool Pre_Scan. It is a portable anti-malware tool that can repair a number of things in your PC after malware infection. For example, it can fix the system services killed by ZeroAccess malware, it can repair the file associations with default programs, it can restore correct attributes to files hidden by malware, etc. In addition, it can also fix the settings related to the Windows Security Center, delete known malicious programs, removes rogue programs from auto-run entries, disables the ActiveX plugins and more.

Pre_Scan has been created with AutoIt and must be run with administrator level access. When launched, it asks you to shutdown all the antivirus programs running in your system. As soon as you click on the OK button, it starts closing all the programs including Windows File Explorer. This is why before you run it, you better ensure that you have you saved any open files in editors and such.

Pre_Scan repairs various components, e.g. ActiveX, and restores hidden attributes of files that have been modified after the computer has been infected by viruses. All of this is done in a blazing flash. You will perhaps won’t even see the Pre_Scan window and it is all done.

But Pre_Scan does not remove all the files and the settings permanently. It saves them in a folder C:\Pre_Scan from where you can restore them at any time later.

PEStudio is a unique tool that performs the static investigation of 32-bit and 64-bit executable. Malicious executable often attempts to hide its malicious behavior and to evade detection. In doing so, it generally presents anomalies and suspicious patterns. The goal of PEStudio is to detect these anomalies, provide Indicators and score the Trust for the executable being analyzed. Since the executable file being analyzed is never started, you can inspect any unknown or malicious executable with no risk.

PEStudio shows Indicators as a human-friendly result of the analysed image. Indicators are grouped into categories according to their severity. Indicators show the potential and the anomalies of the application being analysed. The classifications are based on XML files provided with PEStudio. By editing the XML file, one can customize the Indicators shown and their severity. Among the indicators, PEStudio shows when an image is compressed using UPX or MPRESS. PEStudio helps you to define the trustworthiness of the application being analysed.

Virus Detection
PEStudio can query Antivirus engines hosted by Virustotal for the file being analysed. This feature only sends the MD5 of the file being analysed. This feature can be switched ON or OFF using an XML file included with PEStudio. PEStudio helps you to determine how suspicious the file being analysed is.

Imports
Even a suspicious binary or malware file must interact with the operating system in order to perform its activity. For this to be possible, a certain amount of libraries must be used. PEStudio retrieves the libraries and the functions used by the image. PEStudio also includes an XML file that is used to blacklist functions (e.g. Registry, Process, Thread, File, ...). The blacklist file can be customized and extended according to your own needs. PEStudio shows the intent and purpose of the application analyzed.

Resources
Executable files typically not only contain code but also many kinds of data types. Resources sections are commonly used to host different Windows built-in items (e.g. icons, strings, dialogs, menus) and custom data. PEStudio analyzes the resources of the file being analysed and detects embedded items (e.g. EXE, DLL, SYS, PDF, CAB, ZIP, JAR, ...). Any item can be separately selected and saved to a file, allowing the possibility of further analysis.
