General guide for installation:

1) Completely uninstall any previous version using e.g. Revo Uninstaller before installing the new version(12.23).
2) After reboot, clean up possible leftovers with ThedeadSoup trial reset (v2.0).

3) (Optional) disconnect (unplug) the internet, but DO NOT block specific sites in the HOSTS or block Directory Opus with a firewall.
4) Install Directory Opus 12.23 (using the Universal Installer from the above post in case it was silently updated), but hold it on at the last step.
5) Use de! Crack: apply all 4 cracked files according to your system type x86 or x64.

The default locations for the x64 version are below. Rename (preferred) or delete these files before copying/pasting the cracked x64 files.

6) Go back and continue the last step of installation, then manually insert the new license.
7) (Very important!!!!) Disable automatic updates (Settings - untick "check for news and program updates")
Turn back on the internet.

It should work. However, if it does not, use de!'s dopuscleaner to clear up any leftovers from previous versions without uninstalling 12.23, and re-apply the new license.

Get the portables by DoomStorm: Thanks to GlacialMan (Note:  This portable needs to install the certificate if you use it on a new computer. A better option is to export a portable version onto a USB flash drive from an installed version. The exported portable will be registered with the USB flash drive and can be used on any computer).

Notes of the de! repacks:

1) For the Mirkec repack, just ignore the two RefCount registry key value writing errors. These key values are not necessary.

2) Insert the de! 12.23 license (below) or from the original post here at the first run:
