Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 provides a powerful and flexible development environment for creating Microsoft Windows based and Microsoft .NET based applications.

The Visual C++ Redistributable Package install run-time components of Visual C++ libraries. These components are required to run C++ applications that are developed using Visual Studio 2019 and link dynamically to libraries.

You can use these package to run such applications on a computer even if it does not have Visual Studio 2019 installed. These packages install run-time components of these libraries: C Runtime (CRT), Standard C++, MFC, C++ AMP, and OpenMP.

Windows 10 version 1703 or higher: Home, Professional, Education, and Enterprise (LTSC and S are not supported)
Windows Server 2019: Standard and Datacenter
Windows Server 2016: Standard and Datacenter
Windows 8.1 (with Update 2919355): Core, Professional, and Enterprise
Windows Server 2012 R2 (with Update 2919355): Essentials, Standard, Datacenter
Windows 7 SP1 (with latest Windows Updates): Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate
 

Note Visual C++ 2015, 2017 and 2019 all share the same redistributable files.

For example, installing the Visual C++ 2019 redistributable will affect programs built with Visual C++ 2015 and 2017 also. However, installing the Visual C++ 2015 redistributable will not replace the newer versions of the files installed by the Visual C++ 2017 and 2019 redistributables.

This is different from all previous Visual C++ versions, as they each had their own distinct runtime files, not shared with other versions.
